Welcome to the city of Nikolayev. It is not large but there are some places of interest that would attract your attention and that are seldom met somewhere else.
Mostly Nikolayev is known as the city of shipbuilders. It is situated on two rivers, so in summer you get a wonderful opportunity to visit a lot of beaches with your girlfriend and enjoy yourselves in bathing suits.
Besides that after hot summer day (or after cold one in winter) it would be a good idea to visit some museums and listen to the history of our city. The good examples are The Museum of Local Art and History and The Museum of Navy. In the first one you can see splendid examples of Slavonic culture and art and in the second one you will find out a lot about national fleet and the history of two great states - Russia and Ukraine.

If you like nature a lot and you wish to be close to it, then you are lucky - there is a large zoo in Nikolayev and perhaps it is the best zoo all over Ukraine! You can see many kinds of different animals and birds there, exotic and common for Europe and Asia. By the way, for fish-lovers we have a special aqua-shop where you can acquire any fish you like and take this pet to your country as a reminder of Ukraine, a country with two seas and lots of estuaries and rivers.
Next come the entertainments! If you are still hot or just like water, we have two swimming pools in our city - "Zarya" and "Vodoley". The first one is only beginning to develop and gather its patrons but by the time you are ready to visit Nikolayev it will come to its flourishing and you will be able to enjoy its good conveniences and friendly atmosphere. The second one is definitely worth your attention because it has been built according to the European standards and it contains a lot of additional activities that you can try for improving your health or just for having good time.

Tired from a long day? You must certainly visit our best restaurants, bowling-clubs, and casinos. Most of them are situated in the main street. It is Sovietskaya street and in the evening you are able to discover our city for yourself again. A lot of establishments will entice you by their beautiful design, extra-class conditions, and excellent services. Perhaps, such places as "Colosseo", "Nile", and "Arka" will become your favourite and even being at home you will recollect them with warm thoughts. Do not forget about the "Bocas del Tauro" in which real Spanish food is served, "Oasa" where a great amount of pizza to any taste is, and "Dixie Barbeque" designed in a Western style.

Fresh and ready for having fun again? Our best nightclubs and disco-bars are already waiting for you! The "Monarch" will surprise you by its friendly and polite staff, and rather good conditions for having a date there. The "Coliseum" will fascinate you by its unusual architecture and extraordinary shows. And such establishments as "Metro" and "Grot" that work 24/7 will be able to give you as much enjoyment as you are able to endure. Billiard is served almost everywhere.
