There is no simple question to answer whether the city of Lviv is more Ukrainian or European. As well geographically so historically Lviv has the mission to play a considerable part in intercommunications with countries of Western and Eastern Europe. As a result the architecture of Lviv is mostly European, the inhabitants are mostly Ukrainians, but Poles, Jews, Russians, Armenians, Germans, Czechs and others are presented. Anyone can find here a part of one's own Vienna, Prague or Paris.

To save the outstanding beauty of the city, Lviv was included to UNESCO's "World Heritage List" in 1999. One should not look for sightseeing - just step into the downtown and you are in a museum of almost 800 years history. At the same time, contemporary Lviv has well organized infrastructure including the whole range of required conditions for tourism and travels. Lviv has roadways leading to Cracow, Warsaw, Bratislava, Prague, Bucharest, Sofia, Kyiv and Moscow, domestic and international flights to Russia, Poland, Germany, Canada.

Many restaurants and original cafes of the Lviv's own style offer delicious and no expensive food. There are some hotels providing high standard services. Lviv has a great number of museums and art festivals. Some of them like international festivals "Gold lion" for theatre, musical "The Virtuosi" and contemporary music "The Contrasts" are unique for the Ukraine. The building of Lviv Opera and Ballet theatre is one of the most beautiful all over the world.

The Southern district of the Lviv region situated among the Carpathian mountains - rare ecologically clean region with famous sanatorium "Truskavets". During winter time the Carpathian mountains become a place of piligrimage of the skiers from many countries.

The Carpathians is perfect place for a summer rest also. Old mountains covered with the forests, restless and transparent rivers, healthy streams and crystal air create an admirable atmosphere.
